시간의 비늘, 무의식과 기억
이번에 선보이는 작업 역시 작가의 이념을 손의 사유와 더불어 감각적 사고로 형상화해낸 작품들이다. 인간을 비롯하여 현상계의 모든 사물들은 모두 시간의 비늘을 켜켜로 거느리고 있다. 이를테면 물속에 사는 물고기들만 비늘이 있는 것은 아닐 것이다. 나무가 품고 있는 시간의 비늘, 그리고 인간이 품고 있는 시간의 비늘 등, 본능이나 의식, 무의식, 초자아(超自我)의 층위는 바로 시공간성의 층위이기도 하기 때문이다. 작가는 그러한 비늘의 켜 속에서 얼핏얼핏 드러나고 감추어지는 유년의 기억들과 인간에 대한, 또는 작가 자신에 대한 사념들을 다분히 초현실적이면서도 상징적인 조형어법으로 형상화한다.

His current works also visualize his philosophy with his sensible thoughts and his expert hands. All the things of the phenomenal world, including the human have scales of time layering on them. What I mean is that not only fish in the water have scales. Because the layers of scales of time the tree bears, and scales of time the human bears such as instincts, consciousness, unconsciousness, or the superego are also the layers of the world of space and time. The artist visualized memories of youth which partially revealed and partially concealed within the layers of scale and his thought of the human or himself using surrealistic and symbolic molding method.
